Pandit Barun Kumar Pal : Milestones & Performances :
- 1949- Started learning Sitar and Hawaiian slide guitar from father,Sri Bankimkumar Pal, a disciple of Inayat Hussain Khan Gharana.
- 1950- Radio and other regular concerts as a child prodigy.
- 1952- Open air concert in the presence of Pdt Jawaharlal Nehru, his highness Chau-en Lai and young Indira Gandhi at Cuttack, Orissa,India.
- 1952 to 1960 - Learning Indian Classical Music on Guitar from Prof Nikhil Bannerjee.
- 1953 to 1955- Participation in senior's National Orchestra of All India Radio as a Guitar player with father, Pdt Hari Prasad Chaurasia and others.
- 1964- Became the youngest Guitar Artist of All India Radio, Calcutta. Presentation of an orchestra of 100 Guitar players in All India Youth Festival, Calcutta.
- 1972- Recognition of All India Radio as the first A-grade Artist in Indian Classical and Light Music on Guitar.
- 1973- SP Disc recording from Polydor India, Bombay.
- 1974- SP Disc recording from Hindusthan Records, Calcutta.
- 1975- Personally introduced to Pdt Ravi Shankar.
- 1977- LP Disc recording from Polydor India,Bombay.
- 1975-81-Joined Guru,Pdt Ravi Shankar's 'Talim'( Vigorous training) courses in Benaras.
- 1983- Ganda Bandhan (auspicious thread ceremony) with Guruji, Pdt Ravi Shankar at Benaras.
- 1985-1999 Several National Programmes & National network programmes of Radio & TV.
- 1988- ICCR's Recognition and Solo Performance.
